The NSW Rural Fire Service is planning a hazard reduction burn.
The targeted area covers about 86 hectares of bushland at Conleys Road.
The hazard reduction burn is expected to start at about 8am, and be finished by 8pm.
“There may be some smoke and fire activity visible from local roadways during and after the hazard reduction operations,” NSW Rural Fire Service district assistant for the Central Coast, Matt Horwood, said.
“Motorists in these areas should slow down and take care if driving through smoke, including keeping windows up and turning their headlights on.
“Residents in these areas should take the appropriate precautions including keeping doors and windows closed, remove washing from clothes lines and ensure any pets are in a protected area.”
Residents might also experience discoloured water due to firefighters extracting water from the water mains during the hazard reduction operations.
“This hazard reductions may be re-scheduled should weather conditions be inappropriate. Ongoing patrols of the burn will be conducted as required,” Mr Horwood said.
