Stilling Street Singers and Western Lake Macquarie Concert Band and Toronto Brass are looking to celebrate the music of the Westlakes Music Centre with their tribute concert on September 23.
The musical groups have been using the old Catalina Sergeants Mess in Stilling Street to rehearse since 1994, and the groups will also look to honour the long-standing space in their end-of-month concert.
Tickets are available at the door and are $10. Children 16 and under are free. Entry fee includes afternoon tea that will be provided by the musical groups.
- Stilling Street Singers rehearse Monday nights from 6:30pm and welcome new members. Their annual concert, this year titled Back to the 60s, will be held on October 21 at Toronto Uniting Church.
- Western Lake Macquarie Concert Band turns 40 this year. They rehearse on Tuesday nights from 7pm, with instruments available on loan. To register interest call 49591826.
- Toronto Brass rehearses on Thursday nights from 7:15pm. The band has instruments for loan for beginners or experienced players who would like to join either band. Anyone interested in joining should contact president Trish O’Hearn on 0402 003 214.
