Belmont progressed to their 28th consecutive Newcastle Baseball first-grade grand final with a hard-fought 14-11 win over White Sox on Sunday, setting up a rematch with defending champions Toronto.

In a game featuring a combined total of 28 hits, the Belmont side took the lead during the first dig and then did enough to keep their nose in front.
Cal Davies turned in a marathon performance on the mound for White Sox, while youngster Brett Allen impressed for Belmont during his three innings of work. Jake Amos was best with the bat for Belmont with three hits, including a home run. Leigh Halpin picked up four hits for White Sox.
Arch-rivals Belmont and Toronto meet in both the first- and second-grade grand finals.
Toronto will head into the first-grade decider full of confidence, having not lost a game all season. The first pitch will be thrown at 2pm at Plattsburgh Park.
In lower-grade news, Belmont won both the third- and fourth-grade grand finals on Saturday.
