It will be an absolute treat that you and your family will not forget in a hurry.
No season renews our zest for living like spring. Every civilisation and culture acknowledges the power of spring. The resolutions of a New Year generally dissipate in a week, but spring seems to provide us with the energy that propels us through summer, autumn and winter.
Some people call it ‘spring fever’ but man and animals alike become re-invigorated by spring.
What does spring do for you? Many people say the change of season gives a spring to their step and their whole self responds to a world coming out of a sleep.
Avondale Memorial Church urges everyone to respond to the coming of spring by recharging their emotional, physical and spiritual batteries.
The Spring Festival has been a hugely popular fixture on the local calendar for nearly 40years.
This Saturday’s floral and music spectacular will be boosted by the talent of acclaimed Sydney Tenor, Murray Mayday and the Sydney based Men’s Shed Chorale supported by the local Avondale Memorial Chorale, Orchestra and talented musicians.
Featuring in both morning and afternoon programmes, Murray Mayday had a 12 year association with Opera Australia as principal tenor.
Murray more recently joined The Australian Tenors, a quintet of renowned tenors wowing audiences around Australia and overseas with their powerful voices and Australian humour.
In September, the Tenors will perform in Indonesia and Japan.
In the morning Spring Service Murray will combine solo performances with grand choral works in a combined choir of some 50 voices.
In the Afternoon Concert, Murray will again perform solo and choral works, this time with the Memorial Orchestra and with the Men’s Shed Chorale, all former members of the renowned Sydney Male Choir.
- Morning Spring Service – 10:50am
- Afternoon Spring Concert – 3:30pm
