About 3pm on Saturday, June 2, a 12-year-old girl was walking on Aldinga Road, Gwandalan.
The girl was allegedly approached by a man driving a red/maroon Toyota Prado with black roof rails, who attempted to engage in conversation with her, police said.
The girl reported the incident to her family, who then contacted the police.
The man has been described as being Caucasian, aged in his 50s, with an average build and fair complexion.
He is said to have short red hair and red marks on his face, arms and neck.
He was wearing a blue and red-coloured long-sleeved flannelette shirt.
