Don’t bag supermarket staff in your plastic rage
THE union for retail workers has launched a ‘Don’t Bag Retail Staff’ campaign in its efforts to stop abusive behaviour towards retail workers in the lead-up to the banning of single-use plastic bags in supermarkets. Nationwide, Woolworths will also phase out single-use plastic bags in their stores on June 20, with Coles to do the same on July 1. “While we understand that some customers may be frustrated by this change, there is no excuse for abusive or violent behaviour towards retail staff,” the union said.

One-off grants of between $10,000 and $50,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations and councils for youth-led and youth-driven community projects.
