There are delays across the board for Hunter commuters and travellers on Tuesday.

Passengers on the Central Coast and Newcastle train line are asked to allow extra travel time due to urgent signal equipment repairs at Gosford and a train requiring mechanical repairs at Newcastle Interchange earlier.

There are also delays on the Hunter line, due to a train requiring mechanical repairs at Hexham.

At Newcastle Airport the thick morning fog has grounded several flights, including Virgin Australia and Jetstar planes.

The white blanket enveloped most of the region and made for an eerie start to the day.

The wet weather that lashed the Hunter over the weekend isn’t over yet, with a mix of showers and sunny days forecast for the week.
