It features comments and concerns raised by locals about the plan during consultation carried out between November, 2017, and February, 2018.

A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the RMS and Central Coast Council would focus on progressing Stage 2 of the proposal at the northern end of the alignment, which would provide access to land zoned for education and employment purposes and create opportunities for local jobs in Warnervale.

“Feedback received from this consultation will be considered to develop the Stage 2 concept design and environmental assessment, which is expected to be displayed for community feedback in early 2019,” the spokesperson said.

“Roads and Maritime is also continuing with planning for the full Warnervale Link Road corridor, which includes the intersection of Pacific Highway and Britannia Drive. The concept design for the full corridor is expected to be displayed for community feedback late this year.”

The Central Coast Regional Plan 2036 identifies Warnervale as a regional growth centre and it is anticipated there may be about 75,500 additional people living in the area by 2036.

“The proposed Link Road would directly link the residential growth area of Warnervale to the commercial precincts of Wyong and Tuggerah,” the spokesperson said.

“This would provide the local communities with improved connectivity, reduced congestion and pre-empt the population growth in Warnervale and surrounding suburbs.”

The proposal will also consider improving access to public transport and providing appropriate facilities for walking and cycling.

The RMS thanked the community for its feedback and contribution to the planning work.

“The community will be kept informed as the project progresses,” the spokesperson said.
