The concerts – on July 13 and August 20, respectively – are a coup for the young venue, and a big win for local lovers of classical music.
“This winter, Central Coast classical music fans will be treated to two of the biggest companies in Australia performing right on their doorstep and at an affordable price tag,” The Art House’s Emily Miller said.
On Friday, July 13, Sydney Symphony Orchestra will bring a program of Mozart’s music, played by their 35-piece orchestra, to Wyong for one night only.

“This performance is not part of a tour and is a specially crafted concert put on just for The Art House,” Ms Miller said.
The concert will feature Mozart’s Horn Concerto No 3 and Symphony No 36, as well as well-known pieces from other renowned composers.
Then on Monday, August 20, Opera Australia’s Madame Butterfly, directed by John Bell and sung in English, comes to the Central Coast for one show only.
Puccini’s opera follows the story of an American naval officer, B F Pinkerton, who is ashore in Japan and enchanted with its beauty and freedoms. He decides to take a wife, and when the gorgeous geisha Butterfly arrives, he is transfixed by her charms.
“The opera, which inspired the musical Miss Saigon and which was performed at Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour in 2014, features the Opera Australia chamber orchestra and Opera Australia’s incredible opera singers, as well as a children’s chorus comprised from local Central Coast children,” Ms Miller said.
Ticket prices to such performances can be prohibitive, but The Art House has set ticket prices at $25 for children, and $55 for adults, she said.
“This is to allow both devoted classical music fans and those who have never experienced these two companies on stage to get their tickets and attend without the hefty price tag.”
