Mr Harris said another accident on the road on Monday – the third since April – came despite repeated warnings from locals and a $200,000 “safety audit” on the stretch of road that has long been a problem.
“This is long-running big issue for the people of Charmhaven,” Mr Harris said.
“It’s ridiculous that it’s taken this long to get a safety audit, let alone how long the government seems to expect residents to wait for a solution.
“It’s not good enough to kick the can down the road. Enough is enough.”
Mr Harris said residents feared for their safety while turning out of residential streets along the stretch of highway between Lakehaven Drive and Lowana Avenue.
Some have abandoned the practice of turning right out of their streets onto the highway for fear of being involved in a collision.
