The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a detailed severe weather warning for Cooranbong, Morisset and Dora Creek this evening, for large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding.

The Bureau issued the warning at 4.19 pm while it monitored an upper level trough over eastern parts of NSW. A line of storms has formed over the Lower Hunter and is moving toward the east-northeast.
The BoM said thunderstorms had been detected on the weather radar near Wollombi, the Wollemi National Park southwest of Singleton and Catherine Hill Bay. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east.
They are forecast to affect Cooranbong, Morisset and Dora Creek by 4.40 pm and Cessnock, Swansea and Lake Macquarie by 4:55 pm.
At St Albans, 41mm fell in the 30min to 3pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Unplug computers and appliances.
* Avoid using the phone during the storm.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
