More than 200 of surfing’s top men and women from 18 countries will take to the water at Avoca from Wednesday, with competition to culminate this Sunday in what is expected to be large and challenging surf conditions attracting big crowds, especially over the weekend.
The elite five-day World Surf League event will be the second event on the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series.
The 2018 series is a qualifying series developed to ensure home-grown Australian talent gain ranking points and has so far featured events at Maroubra, Cabarita, and Boomerang Beach.
Twenty local competitors will take part in the competition, with home conditions and a home crowd a big incentive for a local to take out the title for this elite event.
The Central Coast Pro is sponsored by Central Coast Council.
