Roads and Maritime Services will carry out the work, near Acacia Avenue, which involves installing new drainage behind the guardrail.
Work will be carried out between 7pm and 5am, from Sunday to Thursday.
This work is expected to be completed in two weeks, weather permitting.
“Lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 kph will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists,” a spokesperson for the RMS said.
“Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of the signs and traffic control.
“Roads and Maritime thanks the community for their patience while work is carried out.”
