Batting first against Wyong at Harry Moore Oval, Toukley, The Power was dismissed for just 91. Ben Gillies scored 50, while Mark Daniel (17) was the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
Mark Leard and Callum Rainger each took three wickets for the visitors.
But Wyong is struggling at 5-53 in reply. Captain Hayden Murphy is 7 not out and holds the key when play resumes this Saturday.
Northern Power (32 pts) is fourth on the competition ladder, with Lisarow (30), Warnervale (26) and Southern Spirit (26) chasing with one round remaining before the semis.
Kincumber (58) leads the minor-premiership race from The Entrance (50) and Terrigal (48).
Northern Power will take on The Entrance in what looms as a crucial clash in the 14th and final round.
