A man will face court on animal cruelty charges after allegedly shooting a dog with a spear gun on the Central Coast.

It's understood the dog is a labradoodle, and the incident is believed to have stemmed from a dispute between neighbours.
Police will allege in court a 45-year-old man forced entry into a home on Cogra Road, Woy Woy, about midday on Monday January 22. He is believed to have hit the dog over the head, causing several lacerations.
It will also be alleged that after the dog became stuck between a fence and garage wall, the man fired a spear gun, striking the animal in the head.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command were alerted and attended the location.
The 45-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with commit act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal, fire spear gun manner likely to injure person/property and break and enter house, steal value less than $60,000.
The Woy Woy man was refused bail and is due to appear at Gosford Local Court on Tuesday.
The dog was taken to a veterinary clinic where she underwent surgery.
