Toronto Workers bowled out for 155 by Newcastle City in district cricket

TORONTO’S bowling attack faces a tough ask this Saturday when the Kookaburras’  Newcastle District Cricket Association match against Newcastle City resumes at No 1 Sports Ground.

Batting first in the Round 8 fixture, Toronto Workers were dismissed for 155.

Newcastle City will enjoy a walk-up start this Saturday when they resume at 0-24.

Adrian Chad top scored with 41 from 73 balls. The all-rounder became one of Dylan Hunter’s five victims in the Toronto Innings.

Hunter claimed 5-46 from 19 overs.

Corey Brown made 27 at the top of the order, while Logan Johnson (25) and Jeremy Ford (24) also got starts.

In other first grade matches: Wests have lost the wicket of Joe Price and will resume at 1-56 in pursuit of Cardiff-Boolaroo’s first innings total of 145; Hamilton-Wickham scored 256 against Charlestown; Waratah reached 4-235 from 75 overs before rain stopped play against Belmont; University scored 3-116 in reply to Stockton’s 91; and Merewether made 8-217 from 69 overs against Wallsend.
