THE local team that stages the Heaven Can Wait Sailing Regatta on Lake Macquarie has been nominated for another award. Vice-Commodore of Royal Motor Yacht Club, Toronto, Mel Steiner, said the volunteer team had been nominated for a Lake Macquarie Australia Day Award. In September, the Heaven Can Wait team was named Volunteer Team of the Year at the Newcastle region’s 2017 Volunteer of the Year Awards.
