Johnson top-scored with 53 as the Kookaburras were dismissed for 193 in pursuit of Hamwicks’ imposing first innings total of 8-354.
Toronto was asked to follow-on and reached 1-51 from 19 overs when stumps were pulled.
Earlier, Johnson displayed patience and control to work his way to a half-century as the buoyant Hamwicks threatened to run through the home team.
Batting at No 6, Johnson left the ball well, and when the bowlers opted for a straighter line, he’d look to work them through the leg side for runs.
Toronto’s English import Stephen Croft remained unbeaten on 28 batting at No 11.
Toronto Workers will take on Newcastle City in the Round 8 match starting at Newcastle’s No 1 Sports Ground this Saturday.
