Dinosaurs to Dodos is the first-ever exhibition of more than 120 prehistoric and dinosaur scale casts, fossils and resin replicas from local collector and palaeontologist, Michael Dawson, at SEEN@Swansea, supported by Lake Macquarie City Council.
Council’s cultural services manager, Jacqui Hemsley, said the curated exhibition featured original specimens and casts of dinosaur skeletons, showing the life of dinosaurs over millions of years.
“This exhibition is a unique opportunity to walk amongst huge dinosaur skeletons and examine intricate fossils that track dinosaur evolution from the Triassic to Cretaceous time periods. A journey of 175 million years,” Ms Hemsley said
“The true scale of the artefacts create a genuine sense of life in the prehistoric world.
“We are inviting our whole community to come along and enjoy this awe-inspiring exhibition, it’s the perfect activity for the summer school holidays.
“There’s even a life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex to really impress the kids!”
The Dinosaurs to Dodos exhibition opens at 10am this Saturday, November 25, at SEEN@Swansea, located on the first floor mezzanine at The Swansea Centre, Pacific Highway, Swansea.
Entry is just a gold coin donation and the exhibit is open from 10am to 3pm daily. The exhibition ends on Sunday, February 4.
