The operation targeted 30 hectares of bushland near the hot water outlet off Rocky Point Road.

After the driest winter in 15 years, NSW faces challenging conditions as the bushfire season approaches.

This weekend, September 16 and 17, the NSW Rural Fire Service will host Get Ready Weekend activities at some local brigades - including Cooranbong, Dora Creek, Mandalong, Martinsville and Gwandalan - with other brigades to hold their events in the coming weeks.

A list of participating brigades and dates can be found at: rfs.nsw.gov.au.
