A resident (who asked not to be named) told the Lakes Mail that locals came out of their homes about 9.30am after hearing the crash near the intersection of Freemans Drive and Avandale Road.
“It looked pretty bad,” the resident said.
“The people were on the road for about an hour before they put them in the ambulance.”
A 54-year-old man was flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to John Hunter Hospital with facial and pelvic injuries. He was reported to be in a stable condition.
The resident said the accident had again placed the focus on an intersection that worried locals.
“We’ve been trying the do something about that intersection for a long time,” they said.
Multiple ambulances and police vehicles attended the accident site. Police investigations into the collision were continuing on Monday.
