Sunny and still conditions made for picture-postcard moments on the water and Toronto foreshore as the festival celebrated Lake Macquarie’s boating and motoring heritage.
Classic boats were again the stars of the show, while the vintage and classic car display on Victory Parade was the biggest in recent years. Event coordinator Nicole Charlesworth said the festival continued to be a serious drawcard.
“The event is 22 years old, and still going strong. It draws a significant crowd every year. And the crowd this year was up on last year,” Ms Charlesworth said.
The new eatery area was a hit with festival-goers.
“This year a large eatery section was set up so the crowds could sit down and enjoy a meal or a cuppa and look out on the boats, and the area was packed for both days,” Ms Charlesworth said.
Poppins was voted by the public as best boat on display, she said.
