Wyee Public School P&C spokesperson Hollie Wright said after months of preparation, excitement was starting to build for the Wyee Roundup next Friday, November 25.
“Our school’s never had a major fundraiser, and the fact that we are such a little school means we do need a helping hand,” Ms Wright said.
That fact was brought home when Ms Wright’s husband, Brett, noticed that the timber outdoor chairs that he can remember sitting on in the 1980s are still there today.
So the P&C has set about organising the Wyee Roundup. It’s a fete to be held in the school grounds, from 2pm to 8pm.
But it promises to be like no school fete the district has seen.
For starters, superheroes including Spiderman, Captain America and Batman will be there.
The Sydney-based performers from Action Reaction Entertainment will take on a cast of villains at the school.
“They’ll do a fight scene in a 20-minute show, then afterwards they’ll go through the crowd and get photos with kids and families,” Ms Wright said.
“The kids are going to go nuts.”
There will be carnival rides, live music, dog sledding, boutique markets, a petting zoo, animal rides and lets more, Ms Wright said.
“The NRL development team will be there, with Mark O’Meley in the NRL tent,” she said.
Children will be able to meet the former Test and NSW star, kick a ball, and check out the NRL showbags.
“Everyone knows Mark, and the kids are really excited,” Ms Wright said.

Hellcats III are the live rockabilly band who will provide the musical entertainment.
There will also be a free magic show, cake decorating, a hot rod display, and free face painting.
A local miniature pony, Tiny Timmie, will make a special appearance, Ms Wright said.
And gourmet food vendors will be on site.
