WYONG Shire Council has appointed Rob Noble as its acting chief executive officer for up to 12 months.
Mr Noble was previously the acting general manager for the City of Newcastle, the acting CEO of Liverpool City Council and CEO Australia's third largest council, Caboolture Shire Council in Queensland.
"I grew up just down the road so I know the Wyong Shire area very well," Mr Noble said.
"I also have a lot of experience heading up regional councils so am aware of the challenges they face and have been involved in amalgamation processes so feel this is a perfect fit for me."
Mayor Doug Eaton said Mr Noble's experience managing a water authority, large regional councils and as a relationship consultant made him the perfect candidate for the job.
"He seems like an expert acting CEO to myself and my fellow councillors and that is certainly what we need right now," Cr Eaton said.
