Police said a woman parked and secured the car on Yambo St leaving an elderly man in the passenger seat while she walked into the shopping centre just after 1pm.
"The passenger is then believed to have taken the car out of gear and released the hand brake," police said.
"The car rolled up onto the footpath and struck the wall."
The keys were not left in the vehicle at the time.
Paramedics and a Fire and Rescue NSW crew from Morisset attended but there were no injuries.
The Subaru sedan sustained only minor damage.
Police interviewed several witnesses.
