THEY'VE created more than 1000 woollen beanies for international seafarers in port at Newcastle, and now Wangi Library Knitting Group has answered an SOS for woollen jumpers for Afghan children.

Reverend Loy Thompson, from the Anglican Church at Morisset, approached the group to knit 30 jumpers for Afghan children who have recently settled in the area with their families.
The knitting group celebrated its third anniversary this week.
