The Newcastle Herald reported the sightings, with stunning pictures, this week.
According to some local anglers, the juvenile shark - estimated to weigh 300kg - was first sighted off Coon Island in 2013.
There have since been sightings from Eleebana to Pulbah Island to Green Point.
Last Wednesday, the shark was captured on video by fishermen Warren Sternbeck and Rodney Collins during a triple breaching display near Pulbah Island.
On Thursday, the shark was spotted and captured on video gliding through the water just off Murrays Beach. The videos can be viewed on the newspaper's website theherald.com.au.
It prompted Lake Macquarie City Council to erect warning signage at Murrays Beach.
The signage is temporary and was put in place on the advice of the Department of Primary Industries.
In 2012, the council resolved not to proceed with nets at popular bathing areas in the lake.
A spokesperson said this week the council's position had not changed and "no further action is proposed to investigate or install any form of netting at areas controlled by council".
The improvement of water quality and a ban on commercial fishing had seen fish and shark numbers return to pre-1960s levels, the Newcastle Herald said.
