Ms Erling, who owns and operates Artevents Training and Development, has instigated and implemented dozens of colourful and provoking art projects across the Central Coast and Lower Hunter.
She recently opened her popular art training centre, Yara Balba Art Studio, in Mandalong.
"These are business awards so the measure is against how I run my business rather than the art appreciation itself," she said.
Another local winner of one of the 16 coveted category trophies was Chris Cootes, CEO of Southlakes Community Services, which operates Morisset Multi-Purpose Centre.
Mr Cootes won the Not For Profit/Charity category for turning the Multi-Purpose Centre into a base for dozens of essential social programs and at the same time implementing serious climate change policies to reduce the centre's carbon footprint.
The Lakes Mail and the Newcastle Herald are among the sponsors and media partners for the event organised on behalf of seven business chambers around the lake, including Morisset, Cooranbong and Toronto.
Following a glittering presentation dinner at Belmont 16 Footers on Saturday, manager of the event, Brett Gleeson, said the night was attended by more 320 guests and was the biggest presentation event of its type that Lake Macquarie had seen.
