Ms Buchmann leads the 14th century jousting and medieval re-enactment group, Household of the Green Knight, at Cooranbong.
Ms Buchmann and her local colleagues recently took part in The Abbey Festival, near Brisbane, Queensland.
"The Abbey has been described as the best medieval jousting tournament in Australia," she told The Lakes Mail.
"We travelled a long way, taking our horses on this 1750km trip, and they performed extremely well."
Ms Buchmann said she twice defeated the eventual tournament winner Justin Holland, the captain of the victorious Australian jousting team of 2010, and a founding member of the International Jousting Association.
Chris Brown, the star of Bondi Vet and now travel reporter for The Living Room, was at the festival filming for the television series.
Apart from the jousting tournament, the festival included a birds of prey presentation, dancing, crafts, and even a medieval banquet.
Ms Buchmann said the festival attracted a massive crowd.
"The record-breaking attendance figure of 37,302 was an increase of over 10,000 from last year."
