The course, designed by personal trainer Brett Elliss, was always going to provide a stern examination of the NRL squad's strength, co-ordination and stamina.
What the players perhaps weren't anticipating was the teamwork required.
This was evident when the players came to a high wall they were challenged to scale.
The first players ran hard at the obstacle and leapt high, crashing into the timber, and getting a tenuous fingertip hold on the top, before heaving themselves over.
But then the penny dropped - this was a team-building challenge.
Suddenly the players were crouching to provide a welcome leg-up or shoulder for their teammates.
Among the 20 obstacles were mud pits, balance beams and monkey bars.
The Doyalson training session was part of a three-day stay the Sea Eagles enjoyed on the Central Coast, where they were based at Wyong.
