Roads and Maritime Services will carry out routine annual maintenance on the bridge.
Work will involve inspecting and testing the bridge’s electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components and emergency systems.
To minimise the impact to motorists, work will be carried out at night from Monday, May 21, to Tuesday, May 22, from 7pm to 5am, weather permitting.
Skippers are advised the bridge will not be open to marine traffic while work is carried out.
The southbound bridge will be closed on Monday night and the northbound bridge will be closed on Tuesday night.
One bridge will remain open at all times with one lane operating in each direction.
For motorist and worker safety, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40kph will be in place.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
