The new timetable has a train leaving the new Interchange at an early 4.45am that does not stop at either Cardiff or Fassifern for Lake Macquarie residents. There are too many stops on the Central Coast and unnecessary stops at Hornsby and Epping slowing this faster train to Sydney.

Hunter and Central Coast residents need a real faster train that will leave Newcastle about 7am and get people to Sydney before 9am, plus a similar service in the afternoon.

We just need a state government with vision, not this stupid trial saving only minutes!

WITH support above the national average, 65.7 per cent of people in the electorates of Dobell and Robertson said 'yes' to the marriage equality postal survey.

As someone with a strong belief in equal rights I will vote for legislation so same-sex couples can marry the person they love in the country they love.

This can be done before Christmas.

THERE are bad driving habits I see virtually every day.

Not using an indicator for either a lane change, turning into a street, preparing to merge left or right into a turning lane, turning out of driveways, or merging around a vehicle where the left and then the right indicator should be used.

Indicating incorrectly when going through a roundabout. That's the whole idea of the indicator, to show other drivers what you are doing next.

In a 70kmh zone that becomes a 50kmh zone, a lot of people don't slow down. I get tailgated a lot, which is very dangerous.

There are many new houses along this stretch now. In the evenings kangaroos are very active. So it makes sense to slow down.

Along this same stretch where I indicate in plenty of time (30 metres ) that I am about to turn left, I have people overtake me going over double lines right on an intersection. Not long ago, there was a very close call involved with a ute and truck. 

Many people with L or P plates display them in a way that makes them very hard to see from a reasonable distance. Why not buy a plate holder and mount it on with the number plate? 

On the back of cars, particularly hatchbacks or station wagons, the plates are usually stuck behind the wiper blade. What happens if that rear wiper blade needs to be used?

Another problem is vehicles without properly functioning or misaligned headlights. When getting a vehicle serviced, why not get the headlights or park light bulbs replaced? 

Finally, I see sole occupants of vehicles that have L plates displayed. Where's the consideration for other motorists on the road?
