A 31-year-old man was hospitalised after he was assaulted at a Central Coast train station overnight.

The man was waiting at Narara train station about 10pm when he was attacked.
According to police he was punched by a 16-year-old boy who allegedly demanded the man’s mobile phone, which he reportedly smashed on the ground before continuing to assault him.
The man suffered severe head injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.
Police arrived a short time later and located the teenager nearby.
He was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station, where it is alleged he threatened a police officer and punched another in the face.
He was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, intimidation, assault police and malicious damage.
He was refused bail to appear at Children’s Court on Thursday.
