A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing in the Lake Macquarie area.
Just after 3.30pm on Wednesday police will allege four men began arguing outside a property on Threkeld Drive, Bolton Point.
During the fight, a 25-year-old man allegedly stabbed a 41-year-old man twice in the torso.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
Police attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command established a crime scene.
The 25-year-old man was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and is due to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.

TWO men were rushed to hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a violent brawl broke out in Bolton Point, with one man suffering stab wounds and another a blow to the head.
Emergency services descended on Threlkeld Drive shortly before 4pm, responding to the reported brawl.
On arrival, paramedics found one man suffering multiple puncture wounds to his chest and was believed to have been stabbed. Another man suffered a head wound.
Paramedics treated the stabbing victim at length, calling in the Westpac Rescue Helicopter as a precaution.
However, both victims were taken to John Hunter Hospital by road ambulance.
Two men, aged 41 and 47, were in a stable condition on Wednesday night, according to a spokeswoman from Hunter New England Health.
Witnesses said a man involved in the brawl fled from the scene and police were on the hunt.
It was unclear what started the brawl.
