Lake Macquarie mayor Kay Fraser said Graffiti Removal Day was about taking pride in the local community, while helping to tackle the problem of graffiti vandalism.
“Council strives to make our neighbourhoods and town centres inviting spaces for the whole community to enjoy, and no one likes to see unsightly graffiti vandalism get in the way of this,” Cr Fraser said.
“Not only is graffiti vandalism costly and time consuming to remove, it can make local residents feel unsafe in their own community.
“With Graffiti Removal Day coming up on Sunday, October 29, I would encourage everyone to get out and about, volunteer some time and help keep our public spaces looking their best.”
