“After launching in 2016, the Lake Mac Big Weekend has quickly become one of the biggest events on our city calendar,” Lake Macquarie mayor Kay Fraser said.
“It brings our community together, shows off our beautiful lake to a national audience and supports local business by bringing visitors and increased spending into Lake Macquarie.”
Here is a list of what’s on offer.
Gibbo’s Auto Electrics Superboat Championships
Races on Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 11am and 1pm. Best viewing from Marmong Point Marina, Warners Bay, Speers Point and Eleebana foreshores.
Lake Macquarie PWC (Jet Ski) Series
Races all day Saturday and Sunday, demonstration events on Friday. Best viewing on the Eleebana Foreshore and Red Bluff Shared Pathway.
Matt Hall Racing Aerobatic Display
Saturday 11.45am and 2pm; Sunday 9.45am and 11.45am.
Markets
All day Saturday and Sunday on the Warners Bay Foreshore.
Food of the World Fete
All day Saturday and Sunday at Lake Macquarie High School (across from Marmong Point Marina).
Come and Try Water Sports
Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm at Marmong Point Sailing Club.
Wood Turners Open Day
Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 3pm at Marmong Point Community Hall.
Exhibitions
Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm on the Warners Bay foreshore, with a sausage sizzle and displays from Scouts, Guides, the RFS and the Shark in a Bus.
