Established in 2007, the championships enable Rural Fire Service (RFS) cadet fire fighters aged 12 to 16 to compete, develop their skills and interact with other cadets from across the country.

The event opens on Tuesday night, October 3, with competition on the Wednesday and Thursday.

It is hosted by the Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) and the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS).

“The RFSA is committed to developing current and future leaders of the NSW RFS and the championships are a platform for the formation of a network between cadets that can continue to strengthen as they rise through the service,” an event spokesperson said.

“Cadets have the opportunity to socialise, exchange ideas and develop personal relationships as well as fire fighting skills.”
