A YOUNG mother from Balcolyn who went into labour with her third child this morning has been devastated by the alleged theft of her car containing baby supplies, child car seats, and a camera holding four years’ worth of irreplaceable pictures.
“At 4.05am this morning as I was timing my contractions on my phone for our pending third baby I heard a car speed off from out the front,” the woman told the Lakes Mail.
“My partner looked and noticed someone had stolen my car with all my car seats, and my hospital bag including my Canon camera that was in there ready for bub's arrival.”
The woman said the camera bag was the couple’s main concern.
“It has four years’ worth of memory cards in it of my two children as newborns and growing up. Now I have nothing,” she said.
“I am still in labour and I now have no car seats for my older children, or a capsule to bring my baby home in, not to mention a car. And no camera to capture their first moments. Nothing. I am devastated.”
Also in the car was a gold bracelet belonging to the couple’s daughter.
The woman has asked for locals to keep an eye out for her vehicle.
It is a black 2012 Hyundai i40 wagon.
The registration number is CNV 91U.
“All I want is my memory cards… precious memories I can never get back. I am begging you, please help me find it,” she said.
