THERE’S a range of worlds for children to explore these school holidays with Lake Macquarie City Council.

Discover new technologies and ways to live in a sustainable world at the Living Smart Festival on Saturday, September 23, at Speers Point Park. It’s fun for all ages, and it’s free.

On Wednesday, September 27, explore the world of Lake Macquarie’s sea creatures at Morisset Library.

Then, on Thursday, September 28, young children can get creative in a rainbow world with Rainbow Connection painting and crafts at Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery.

Plus, the gallery is reinventing the wonderful world of books with classes and activities throughout the holidays.

Don’t miss the chance to encounter something out of this world on Friday, September 29, with stories and crafts at Baxter Park, Nords Wharf, with The Rover.

Children looking to improve their confidence in the water before summer can take part in learn-to-swim intensive programs at Charlestown, West Wallsend and Swansea swim centres, from Monday, September 25, to Friday, September 29.

“There’s so much on offer these school holidays with a huge variety of activities, workshops and classes available, the kids won’t have time to get bored,” a spokesperson for Lake Macquarie City Council said.

“Places fill up quickly so book your spot and enjoy the holiday fun.”
