SOUTHERN Lakes suffered a 31-3 loss to Easts 1 on Saturday in the Newcastle Hunter Rugby Union Divisional semi-final at No 2 Sportsground. The win sees Easts 1 progress to the grand final.

Southern Lakes get another chance to secure a grand final berth when they take on Muswellbrook at No 2 Sportsground this Saturday at 10.55am.

The Hammerheads will be without captain Riley See who injured his knee in the loss to Easts 1.

“Muswellbrook are going to be very hard to beat,” Southern Lakes Kelsy Johnson said. ”And being without our captain Riley See who has a torn ACL will be a big loss for this weekend’s game.”

Southern Lakes are the minor premiers.
