The Rural Fire Service will instead carry out the burn tomorrow, Friday, weather permitting.
The target area for the hazard reduction burn is 16 hectares off Conleys Road, Martinsville.
This Saturday, August 19, the RFS plans to carry out hazard reduction burns at Bonnells Bay, and Balcolyn/Silverwater.
At Bonnells Bay, 22 hectares will be targeted to the rear of Bonnells Bay Public School, between Fishery Point Road and Morisset Park Road.
That burn is scheduled to start at 9am and be completed by about 6pm.
At Balcolyn/Silverwater, 29 hectares will be targeted to the rear of properties in Lake Road and Beach Road, starting at about 9am and finishing around 6pm
Ongoing patrols of the burns will be conducted as required
There may be some smoke and fire activity visible from local roadways during and after the hazard reduction operations.
Motorists in these areas should slow down and take care if driving through smoke, including keeping windows up and turning their headlights on.
Residents in these areas should take the appropriate precautions including keeping doors and windows closed, removing washing from clothes lines, and ensuring any pets are in a protected area.
Residents may also experience discoloured water due to fire fighters extracting water from the water mains during the hazard reduction operations.
The hazard reductions may be re-scheduled should weather conditions be inappropriate.
