SOUTHERN Lakes were defeated 19-3 by Easts 1 in a stop-start Divisional rugby union match on Saturday. It was a tough, niggling encounter played with plenty of emotion. Easts 1 scored two tries in the first half to lead 14-3 at the break. The Hammerheads were best served by prop Joel Hines who tackled strongly, and turned the ball over several times to win possession. Southern Lakes has the bye this Saturday.
