Players and supporters alike were treated to delicious cupcakes and toffees, lovingly made by volunteers, for the cost of a gold coin. Additionally, netball lovers were asked to enter a teapot competition by entering their favourite collectible.
Prizes were given for teapots which were unusual, quirky and original with a beautiful Peter Pan teapot owned by Toni Shearman winning first prize, closely followed by a cute frog teapot entered by Madeleine Allen.
Australia’s Biggest Morning tea is held annually in May or June to support the Cancer Council.
Everyone knows someone affected by cancer. Today, there are more than 1.1 million Australians who are either living with cancer or who have survived a diagnosis.
The Cancer Council unites the community, creates hope, provides support, and saves lives. It is an honour for a small community sporting association such as Westlakes Netball Association to be able to support such a charity which is able to positively impact on people’s lives every day.
