That’s because Miss Gigi (real name Hilary-Anne Wattus) embraces the retro style in her everyday life.
Miss Gigi, 21, of Newcastle, said she was first drawn to 1950s fashion because it suited her figure.
“It’s about taking pride in your appearance and femininity,” she said.
“Sometimes I wish I’d been born in the ‘50s.”
The runner-up at the 2016 Miss Pin-Up Australia, Miss Gigi said she was delighted to win the Toronto competition, a highlight of the Blast from the Past: Rock and Roll Picnic.
And if there had been a prize for the coolest toddler, it would have gone to Lennox Ward, 2, of West Wallsend who got around with dad Matt in a custom-made stroller inspired by an Ed Roth bubble car.
“He loves it. He wheels it out from his bedroom at home to sit and watch TV like he’s at the drive in,” Matt said
