Central Coast Council said the branch was due to reopen on Thursday, June 1.
Until that time, library members can return borrowed items via the returns chute. Borrowed items can also be renewed and reserved online.
“The refurbishments include a new service desk, self-service reservations, a new popular reads section, and new public catalogues,” a spokesperson for the council said.
“The smaller service desk will make more space available for the community in the library.”
The existing 12 public internet stations will be moved to a different part of the library and will be housed in purpose-built computer furnishings.
“There will also be a new stand-alone internet bar with two express internet stations for library patrons who are interested in doing a quick search.”
Three new catalogues will be built into the ends of shelving, enabling library patrons to access the catalogue from the shelving.
“Council is committed to delivering state-of-the-art facilities for the community and this is part of that plan,” the spokesperson said.
“Patrons are encouraged to use our online services and any our 11 other branches, with Toukley and Tuggerah libraries being the closest to Lake Haven Library.”
