Avondale School Toronto Campus raises $3000 for Heart Foundation in jump off day | photos

The 38 Kindergarten to year 6 students at Avondale School’s Toronto Campus have stunned the Heart Foundation with their fundraising achievements at a recent jump off day.

Students gained sponsorship from family and friends to skip and raise money for heart research. Students participated in their four sport houses, and support from parents added a carnival feel to the day.

“With a total of over $3000 raised, the school with only 38 K-6 students has raised more money than schools with hundreds of students,” the Heart Foundation’s Montana-Rose Tozer-Chahine said.

Two thirds of that total came from a tenacious six-year-old, Kyrah Page, who is now the No 1 fundraiser for the foundation in Australia.

Kyrah’s skipping campaign began with a dog leash, and an infectious enthusiasm for jumping.

The school’s jump off day is now featured on the Heart Foundation’s website as an example for other schools.
