Lake Macquarie City Council’s section manager Helen Plummer said the next stage of works, which were part of council’s Cycling Strategy 2021, would complete the link between Argenton and Glendale.
“The works we are currently planning will see a new shared pathway constructed from Lake Road, Argenton, along the former tram corridor to Frederick Street, Glendale, where it will join the existing shared pathway,” Ms Plummer said.
The pathway will also link with the Glendale-to-Wallsend rail trail, which connects Lake Macquarie residents to bike routes to John Hunter Hospital and Newcastle University.
