Paddlefest features events for stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, dragon boats and outriggers – and paddlers of all ages and standards are catered for.
There’s even a few novelty events, just for laughs.
Project director Pam Dean-Jones invites business groups and families to get involved, have great fun, and raise funds for local projects.
“It is so easy to participate and have fun with the many forms of paddling that are on offer on Sunday at Speers Point Park for the minimal entry fee of $25 per participant,” she said.
Peter Hicks of Toronto Sunrise Rotary Club said proceeds from this year’s Paddlefest would support local families impacted by cancer, and the John Hunter Hospital youth mental health unit.
In 11 years, paddlefest has raised more than $150,000 for local causes.
The fun starts at 8am.
