Chad scored a century and claimed 10 wickets for the match as the Kookaburras completed an outright win over Stockland-Raymond Terrace at Ron Hill Oval on Saturday.
Chad claimed 4-23 to help dismiss the visitors for 117. He then compiled 102 not out as Toronto powered to 7-263 declared. Chad continued the rout on Saturday, claiming 6-52 in Stockland’s second innings.
Toronto spokesman Aaron Gray said Chad’s double was a first for the club in the top grade, and possibly in Newcastle district cricket.
“We consulted with Australia's top cricket statistician and Test scorer at the SCG, Adam Morehouse, and he has advised that a century and 10 wickets in a match has been achieved by four players in Test history - Ian Botham, Imran Khan, Shakib Al Hasan and Betty Wilson,” Gray said.
