The 56 recruits completed 10 weeks of intensive training at the Corrective Services Academy at Tomago.
The new Corrective Services NSW officers have been taught key legislation, and have participated in simulated search and emergency-response exercises, as well as weapons training.
Assistant Commissioner James Koulouris said the academy provided world class training facilities.
“Training locally means we can provide more attractive employment opportunities in this area,” Assistant Commissioner Koulouris said. “The new recruits will now embark on a career in corrections that will be a rewarding one, playing a vital role in keeping our community safe”.
